In an effort to facilitate the career development of NIDDK-supported investigators and help in their transition to independent research careers, the Division of Kidney, Urology, and Hematologic Diseases of the NIDDK are sponsoring a "Young Investigators' Workshop" on May 10-12, 2006, at the Inn and Conference Center, University of Maryland University College in Adelphi, Maryland. Participation in the workshop is invitation only.

The purpose of this meeting is to get together young investigators supported by our division in NIDDK with F32s and K awards to foster networking, career development activities, and transition to independence. There will be ample time for questions and answers during 2-day workshop. The meeting location and format will encourage networking among participants. NIDDK program staff will be available for discussions of future individual research projects.
