  The purpose of this meeting is to review current knowledge related to the typology of diabetes in childhood, with a particular focus on the potential overlap between type 1 and type 2 diabetes. The aims of the workshop are to:
  1. Review the basis of current classification methods
  2. Identify areas of uncertainty in diabetes classification
  3. Explore new data related to the typology of diabetes in childhood
  4. Identify new areas for research, with the goal of establishing improved paradigms for the classification  of pediatric diabetes
