The purpose of this meeting is to review current knowledge related to the typology of diabetes in childhood, with a particular focus on the potential overlap between type 1 and type 2 diabetes. The aims of the workshop are to:
- Review the basis of current classification methods
- Identify areas of uncertainty in diabetes classification
- Explore new data related to the typology of diabetes in childhood
- Identify new areas for research, with the goal of establishing improved paradigms for the classification of pediatric diabetes
